General Discussion / New to Adventure cycling. Need good bike .
« on: July 23, 2009, 11:07:07 am »
Hi
I have a on/off road Trek  multi-track 7100. It rides good but old. Probably not the right bike for long distance rides. Do anyone have any suggestions for bikes. Not too expensive. Meaning  around $400-800.  Eventually when I am seasoned I will get better bike. I need to find out what is the best bike for adventure rides   and long distance riding. No racing though. I did enough competition skydiving. LOL

I plan to do a lot of riding in Holland and Germany, thats where I will be living.Getting married next year to a nice German native man. He is not a cyclist. He rides a bike of course. For work and town only.
He can't help with these questions.  . I will be traveling  to Germany in October. I will do most of my riding there. Right now .I am in H**l.LOL :)

Houston/Katy,Texas. Its about 98-99 degress in our afternoons now. I do ride but in the VERY early AM or at night. I am doing a group on weekeds that rides the countryside. I have been riding about 2-3 hours a day on my own too. Too get in shape for the longer  tours when I start them.

I really just  want the best adventure cycling  bike  I can get at a  reasonable price. Like I said to someone. I know all about skydive gear terms. I am new to the cycling terms.

BTW: How are the fold in bikes?

Danke.,
Tiff
