Temporary ACA Route Road Closures / PLEASE READ FIRST
« on: April 20, 2009, 10:59:48 am »
The purpose of this discussion is to help cyclists on the road stay abreast of the fast changing, short term situations due to seasonal fires, floods and other weather-related conditions as well as construction projects when possible. For information on longer term road closures and service information, see our Addenda page at http://www.adventurecycling.org/routes/addenda.cfm.

When you begin a new topic, please include the route name, section number (where applicable) and year in the subject line, eg. TransAmerica Section 3 2009, Great Divide Section 2 2009, Green Mountains Loop 2009. Also include the map panel number/name where applicable, eg. TransAmerica Section 3, map panel 28, Atlantic Coast Section 2, New York City Spur A.

If you have additional information pertaining to a route already listed, please 'Reply' to that posting to add your comments.

Thank you.

GPS Discussion / ANNOUNCEMENT: Waypoints now available
« on: April 16, 2004, 12:43:38 pm »
GPS Waypoints Now Available for Download

Almost 32,000 miles of GPS waypoints are now available to be downloaded from our website! This means the entire network, excluding the new Tidewater Potomac Heritage Bicycle Trail, is ready to go. We expect the Tidewater Potomac to be available in the first part of May.

We have made waypoints for each turn in the narratives and each facility in the service directories. Every waypoint has a comment that describes a town, an intersection, a service, or another point of interest. The data for each route is downloaded in its entirety and can be used with a variety of commercial, shareware and freeware programs. See the GPS User Guide for more information.

A link to this pdf and more information can be found at:
http://www.adventurecycling.org/routes/gps.cfm

If you have questions, please feel free to post them here or send them to me directly at jhmilyko@adventurecycling.org

Enjoy!!

.Jennifer.

Routes / NEW: GDMBR shuttle information
« on: May 28, 2004, 04:35:55 pm »
Due to the remote nature of the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, we have received many requests for shuttle information.

Now available on our website is a list of suggested shuttle service providers:

Enjoy!
