In looking at the C&O tour, it noted that it was fully supported. What does that mean? Does this mean that all of your camping equipment,etc. is transported for you? Does this mean that the only things you have to carry on your bike are miscellaneous items such as repair equipment and spare tubes.
If this information is in another location on this web-site, please advise.

Routes / Re: MN to CA

My other question is are all the routes (just ordered first route map tonight) on paved roads/trails?  It seems like every picture they show are cyclists on dirt roads.  My goal is to travel this route and stay on paved roads. 

I would say that 98% (or better) of our routing, other than the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, is on paved roads or trails. Sometimes the route is on a crushed limestone or gravel path and occasionally, there is an unavoidable 0.5 mi. to 2 mi. of gravel road. On the Lewis & Clark route, there are several gravel options.

Temporary ACA Route Road Closures / Re: Lewis & Clark Section 6 2009

"Adding lanes"? Does that mean it will be safer to ride on 12 from Missoula to Kamiah next summer? Right now the Motorway appears to be the safest route, and that requires a different bike than the road portions.

Adding lanes would be nice, wouldn't it? I'm not entirely sure what the scope of the end result is slated to be on this project. We received notification from a cyclist passing through so only have minimal information at this point.

Temporary ACA Route Road Closures / TransAmerica Trail Section 3 2009

There is road construction occurring on US 12 in Idaho. They are working on shoulders and adding lanes. This pertains to Maps 30 & 31 from Kooskia to Lowell. Please ride with caution through this area.
