I've been traveling for the last 4 months on an around-the-world flightless trip and I'm about to embark on the final, and by far the most challenging leg: a bike ride across America. I'm in Los Angeles now and was planning on going to Phoenix first ( my friends wedding is in Phoenix) but I've decided this is too dangerous to do alone given the high temperatures and lack of shade and civilization one encounters on this route. I'm now considering the Western express route that takes me from San Fransisco to Pueblo, Co., but this route has its own challenges (high elevation and possible low temperatures/snow). My departure date is October 2 or 3.
I am relatively young (27) and I'm in pretty good shape, but have very littel cycling experience.
