Schwalbe Marathon Plus 26 x 1.75 Comments?
Zenroad:
I'm about to change from Continentals to Schwalbe. Have read a lot of good things. Anyone have anything to say about the Marathon Plus 26 x 1.75?
John Nelson:
What do you plan to use it for? It's tough, reliable, heavy, wooden--good for commuting over glass. The Schwalbe Marathon line has a lot of different models, each good for a different purpose, and each appealing to different tastes.
tonythomson:
Used Continentals to do Southern Tier E to W, replaced due to wear in Texas.
Crossed Australia on Schwalbe Marathon no punctures and still plenty of wear left in them. Will stick with Schwalbe from now on although both makes will do the job.
pdlamb:
I just changed out a Marathon (no plus) the other day. Finally wore the thing out, after 8,000 miles. The good: good flat resistance all the way down to seeing the underlaying layer of rubber. The bad: in the running as one of the stiffest, "deadest" tires I've ridden. About half of the miles were commuting, and it was a relief to have a dependable tire after a problem batch of another brand; but it's also a relief to ride with a more compliant tire back there!
bikeman:
Great tires, don't over inflate, Wore out 3 sets 26x1.75 and had 5 flats.
