Cycling out of Sao Paulo, Brasil

Hi, this year we set of for our big bicycle travel adventure for I hope at least two year. We want to start in Sao Paulo, then south to Ushuaia and eventually all the way north to Alaska. We are now in the planning period before we take of, so let's start at the beginning. :) We will probably have tons of questions on cycling the Americas later on!

So for now one question: does anybody have had experience in cycling out of Sao Paulo?

Any tips? Or bicycle routes in that area?
