NORTH LAKES LOOP
« on: January 20, 2013, 02:46:16 pm »
We are considering making a loop out of the North Lakes Route.  Intended route would start in Manitowac, travel up and around the lake, and back to Ludington, and then ferry back to our cars.  I was wondering if anyone has done this, or has any input.  We are thinking about doing the route in late May or early June.

I have not, but this summer I ran into a couple in Petoskey who have done this exact trip three summers in a row! They must like it I guess.

Though not exactly like what you are planning, my wife and I rode from Minneapolis/St.Paul down to Fort Wayne,In. Then back hoem to Cleveland. We did this last August/September. Here is our CrazyGuy Journal https://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/?o=1&doc_id=11176&v=BN

We did that exact route in 1998. Great ride. Check out my notes at www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/myfine1998
We got really lucky with weather and wind too. Highly recommend the route.

Please see the earlier post about the SS Badger, which is the ferry crossing Lake Michigan.
