The Bicycle Coalition of Maine is launching a new 7-day, mass ride called BikeMaine this September 7. The annual event will have a changing route each year to explore all parts of Maine. The inaugural ride on Sept. 7-14 will cover 400 miles and 24,000 ft of climbing and will visit some jaw-dropping areas both inland and along Penobscot Bay and in and around Acadia National Park. The first ride will be limited to 350 riders. Cost is $875 per person and includes 18 meals (riders are on their own for 3 meals in Bar Harbor) including a shore side lobster dinner. This will be a memorable ride at a great time of the year (the last full week of summer) when traffic is light and the air still warm. There will be community cooked meals with local ingredients, entertainment and a wide variety of Maine brews. We already have riders registered from 25 states. Go to bikemaine.org for more info and come join us for a truly great ride.
