I solo-cycled this awesome circle route in two-and-a-half
weeks and I recommend it if you want to try some Adventure
Lite in Mexico. Email me if you're curious about the route.

I plan to ride San Diego to Cabo San Lucas in April and May following Mex hwy 1 to La Paz then Mx Hwy 9 back to La Paz. Do you have any advice Pros or Cons?

Hi Bikeman,

Whoa, there's lots that could be said!

There's not a lot of bike-oriented info out there, but the
best info for me came from a surprising source: RV driving
logs and atlases. Check travel bookstores for these...they
give detailed on-highway and off-road info on mileage,
road conditions, campsites, amenities and yes, gas
stations. Baja RV'ers are a surprisingly tenacious and
adventurous lot!

There's LOTS I could tell you...what specifically do you
want to know?

Hi Mitey-Miss,
Just knowing someone else has toured the Baja helps. I would like to know what parts of the ride you would and would not do again. What route did you ride? Did you ride any off road unpaved? What time of year and how was the weather? How was the hwy traffic on Mex 1 and Mex 9 for cycling? Did you ride any of hwy 9? Whats the farthest distance between food and water service? Did you camp in the bush? What were the tent camp fees? Have any problems with the locals? Any bike shops before La Paz?
I have the AAA maps and their list of campgrounds, didn't think of the RV'ers info, I will go to Barnes N Noble and see what I can find.
Thanks in advance for any info you have.
I will be leaving San Diego on the 2nd of April if you want to go along :)
Regards Bikeman
