Very good question. We have an active club and have club rides on Tu,Wed.,Th, and Sun. Sun is usually 50mi or a metric century. The club members for the most part ride racing machines made of Carbon,Titanium,Aluminum-Carbon. Those who also have steel bikes use them for winter and bad weather riding. We have a couple of older riders who have gone cross country. Agewise, there are only about four of us who are 65+ years old--and we are the ones who like distance riding. The bike I ride is an Aluminum-Carbon racer. For light touring, I have an older Miyata Cross 100 with 700x36C tyres and bar-end shifters. I will poll the club to see if anybody would be interested in doing a tour. I do know that there are races scheduled for almost every weekend this summer.
