Corridors form the framework for the first phase of the U.S. Bicycle Route System. These are not routes, but rather, 50-mile wide swaths that suggest where a route should be developed. Corridors link key destinations, urban centers, and take into account the natural landscape. Routes are the roads, trails and highways that will be designated as a U.S. Bicycle Route. The corridor plan is adaptable and corridors can be added or re-aligned based upon public and state interests.
