Highway of Legends

Hello,

I'm looking for advice on biking the Highway of Legends (Hwy 12) in Southern Colorado in late May. I was thinking of biking either from Trinidad to Walsenburg or vice versa.

Is this a 1-day trip, or is it a bit more of an expedition? Is it a moderate route, or major mountain-climbing? Any rough estimates on how long it might take?

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.
