I am thinking of replacing the (original. so 5 years old) Conti 26x1.95 tires on my 2007 Novara Safari expedition bike with Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour HS 404 26x2.0 tyres. Any input, thoughts, considerations you all might have?
I have Schwalbe Marathon Plus 348s on my Bianchi Volpe, and I really like the ride, handling and durability.
Ride safe,
Hans

If you like them on another bike, why not?
That said I hate the Marathon Plus. They weigh literally more than double what many other suitable tires weigh and the stiff sidewalls provide the opposite of a lively ride. OTOH they are very flat resistant and long wearing if that trumps ride characteristics for you.

I have been running the Marathon HS 368's for two years and 6,500 miles. I can't say enough positive. Yes, they are on the heavy side, but with one slow leak in all of those miles, I can handle heavy. With two long trips planned for this summer, I have just ordered two HS 420's (the apparent replacement) even though there are lots of miles left in the 368's.
Perhaps I should mention that virtually all of my touring is on pavement.
