Hi,
I am looking to leave the Texas heat behind this summer and am hoping to find a nice area to ride for a month or so. Not looking for a route to ride but rather an area (summer rental) to spend a month or so riding about. Hoping to catch someone from the RM area with some suggestions about places that would be fun to spend some time around.
Bikes = road, gravel and mtb
Fun = scenic, easy, safe

Hmmmmm -
Northern New Mexico -
Close, but not too many riding options, traffic issues.
Southern Colorado -
Killer rides in the San Juans, killer prices too.
Northern Colorado -
A zillion people crowding every trail and back road.
Southern Wyoming -
Desolate - except for the Snowy Range.
Yellowstone / Grand Teton -
Magnificent but mobbed with millions of tourists.
Montana -
Too far away.

So that leaves the Bighorn Mountains of Northern Wyoming.
Which is where I live - - Buffalo.
Lots of paved and dirt options - low traffic.
Stunning scenery, great camping.
Things to do in Sheridan, Buffalo, and Greybull.
With affordable motel / restaurant prices.
Oh, and did I mention wildflowers in late June?

Beautiful pic! Thanks! Kinda looks like a field of Texas blue bonnets.
I've been around Northern New Mexico and also South Central Colorado. I also like fly fishing. You get far enough West, like Montrose or Grand Junction, and its just as hot as Texas.
Buffalo Wyoming ... makes the list.
Big thanks!
