I was woundering if there is a site that has camp grounds nation wide . It wound be nice to have when planing my next trip

www.reserveamerica.com does a lot of *state* run campsites in the NY area, not sure if they list private campgrounds but they seem to be nationwide.
Of course, if you're using ACA maps, the flip side has a small portion of campsites in each particular zone.

Certainly one long time reference for campgrounds is Woodhall's. Look for it in bookstores or your library. Don't know if they have a website. Kinda geared more for the RV'er than the tenter, but has quite an extensive listing, and rates sites like AAA.
Also, I think that AAA publishes a campground travel guide.

Oh yeah, forgot about Woodhalls and AAA. Campmor should have the Woodhall books. AAA does campgrounds in regions , I have the one for the NE. Of course, I've gotten some "bike discounts" from private campground owners. Most of them are very nice and if they see you on a bike and know that you are going far, they may just give you the discount whether you're a AAA member or not... :)

Check sites that offer tourist information where you are touring. This summer I travelled in New Brunswick, Canada. The provincial tourism web site was loaded with all kinds of useful info, including campgrounds. The typical entry had a link, if available, E-mail address, phone number, address and a detailed listing of available services.
