Is it worth carrying semi-slick tires for those long stretches of road and
dirt back roads?
thanks

Gear Talk / disc brakes
« on: June 05, 2005, 05:02:36 pm »
I'm thinking of taking my full suspension with disc brakes on the great
divide. Will disc brakes withstand those steep downhills, with a bob
trailer attached as well? What have people experienced or heard about.
Thank-you
Lisa

Gear Talk / Nashbar waterproof panniers?
« on: April 20, 2005, 01:29:47 am »
Thanks for the warning. I imagine there are so few things that can be
relied on with the great divide. Might as well get the gear somewhat
fullproof!

Has anybody had any experience with nashbar waterproof panniers. Is
it worth paying less with these?

Routes / great divide

Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like a great ride-wish I was doing it tomorrow. A month and a half is my time off of work that I know of so far-it sounds very doable.

Routes / great divide

I want to ride the great divide trail in a month and a half next year-about averaging 60 miles a day. For those who have completed it N-S what would this speed be like? Would I be able to appreciate the country side at all?
thanks
lisa

Have there been any women out there who have biked the great divide
solo? I'm thinking of it and just would like to hear other experiences
from men or women.
Thanks Lisa

General Discussion / What gets confiscated at the airport...?
« on: May 26, 2005, 03:11:03 am »
I'll be flying from New Jersey to Montana to do the great divide MBT
and would like input of what will be confiscated in the airport. Knife is
one I'm assuming? Any other gear I should worry about?
thanks
lisa

Whats the best way to get to Port of Roosville, Montana? And is there a
list of airports running close to the entire great divide trail?
thanks

General Discussion / great divide partner
« on: October 08, 2003, 10:43:28 pm »
I need a partner to ride the great divide route from montana to new mexico. I prefer a woman and someone who can tolerate long days of mountain biking and camping. We would be leaving the end of june next year beginning of july and probably ending sometime in the end of september. Email me if you are interested
