Hi I have a MSR Ultralight Zoid 2 tent that I used 3 nights no-rain camping last summer.  I am asking 200$ and I am throwing in the tent footprint as a bonus.  The tent is in perfect condition just like new.

I have a pair of Shimano sandals that are great for warmer weather up to 7 50 miles a day after my feet get uncomfy.  I have a pair of Shimano MT-40 that are the greatest shoe I have ever had (20+ years of riding)

Thanks for the info.  This is not the first time I hear that...however I am short on time, if I had longer I would stick along the Northern Tier route until around Buffalo and we cut across around Kingston, On.  I will have to play it by ear...

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best route for this leg of my part of Norther Tier route(Anacortes, WA to Montreal trip)?  Should I stick to #2 for most of the way or is #28 a better quieter alternative?

Any help is welcome!!

Thanks,

It really depends on you average daily mileage.  When I do it in 2 days with a stop in Trois-Rivières which is about 1/2 way. I find it is such a flat route that it is not physically challenging.  If you are lucky the dominant west to east winds will push you along.

As for the return I there is road on the south shore of the St-Lawrence called route 132.  I have never driven it nor biked it but judging from a map I pulled from MS Street & Trips route 132 runs for most of it's way close to the shore.  It is the old road also only used by local traffic.  I would surely give it a try if I were you.  If you give me your email address I can send you the MS map I pulled.

Hi Cliff, I live in the Mtl area and cycle the Mtl to Quebec City route on many occasion to visit a freind that lives in Mont Ste-Anne (30 miles east of Quebec City).  The route is very flat as it follows the St-Lawrence river for most of the way.  There are a couple of hills as you near Quebec City but nothing to write home about. Shoulders are reasonably wide and traffic is light as it is only local traffic using that road.  If you want the most scenic make sure you stick to the "Chemin du Roi" as this road (which used to be the old road) sometimes gets back on route 138.  There many cities along this route with lots of services.

If you need more info do not hesitate to write back.

Thank you very much for all the trouble on providing this information. Sounds like my plan on going down on SR 9 is not such a great plan.  Do you know any other better rides from the Canadian side...was wondering if I should stick on the Cdn side thru Osoyoos...

I am planning the above trip. My planned route would take me from the Canadian border on Highway 9 (thru Nooksack) to Sedro Wooley and then east on 20 mostly all the way to Spokane. I am planning on daily centuries (100 miles)...has anyone every riden this route.  I was wondering how the roads are for touring riding!!

Any particular model in mind ?   What do you think about the spring model?  I have spent so much money on saddles over the past couple of year it's not even funny.  My butt deserves the best...
