Classifieds / Recumbent Rans Stratus - great tourer
« on: November 13, 2012, 01:27:49 pm »
A very rare 2006 Rans Stratus, standard size frame.  This bike sold for $1750 new, has $400 in extras, and has been ridden only 75 miles!

In 2006 Rans stopped making this model of Stratus and began producing a down-spec version.  This one has a SRAM X9 drivetrain, Avid Arch Rival brakes and levers.  Bontrager 165mm crankset, 24-42-52 chainrings.  11-32 9 speed cassette.

Extras include:
Vredestein S-lick tires
Planet Bike Blaze headlight/turbo taillight
Adjustable stem/adjustable chopper bars.  You can get the PERFECT custom setup
Topeak rear rack with trunk rack.
Upgraded stainless cables and Jagwire housing.

This is great tourer because if has passive suspension, strong wheels, ability to mount front rack, low gears, etc.

It is immaculate, as it should be with 75 miles.

I am a bike mechanic who built this up personally and gave it to my ladyfriend as a gift.  She ended up with the bike hanging in her garage for 5 years until I talked her into surrendering it to me.
