General Discussion / Re: 12 days - NY to Norfolk

Yeah it's really well located, but keep in mind that you'll be camping on a 15 x 30 foot grass patch surrounded by brick buildings and asphalt. Still it's very convenient and the cheapest night available in NYC. Anyways, you don't go to New York to stay inside whether it be a tent or hotel.

If you want to visit NYC and camp, there is a campground in Newark,  New Jersey just outside New York.

The park is essentially a parking lot for RVs but they have a small grass area by the showers where you can put up a tent. They charge $50 a night for a tent with up to 4 people. They are about a 5 minute walk away from the PATH train which runs every 15 minutes to the centre of Manhattan. It's not a great place to stay, but it is cheap and we'll located.

Routes / Re: PC / Mac for some photography PP on route?

If you figure that you leave 100 GB of space for the OS and applications you'll have about 400 GB left with the larger 512 GB drive. That's about 11000 pics so if you limit yourself to that you should have no problems. Just wondering do you do time lapses to take so many pictures?

If your shooting in Raw I doubt a solid state will hold 30000 pics. You might have to take an external drive around which means more weight. If you shoot in jpeg than  30000 Pics wouldn't be a problem. By the way, Lightroom is now available on ipad an you can upload your photos to a cloud based server. From what I've seen though the functions on Lightroom ipad are pretty limited.
