Hi Stephen,

Yes, I hope we can help each other.  I am much older and will be even older when I start my travels, but I went to your website and our lives have some very interesting parallels.  I used to own a bike dealership in the '70's and was hit by a car in the early 80's.  Doctors told me that I might not ever walk again.  I did get back on my feet and can walk, but didn't get on a bike again until last year.  I have one grown daughter not two and plan to make my trip on an electric bike, not a standard bike, as I cannot pedal more than 10 or 15 miles per day without my legs giving out.  I also hope to complete my trip in less than a year.

Hi sanuk,

I believe the 6000 miles through Canada and the U.S. is the first leg of Stephen's journey.  Mine starts in Southern California and then South into Mexico, Central and South American, with a flight to Europe, through Europe and a flight to Australia, through Australia and finally another flight to Southern California.  My trip could change though as I do not start until 2018.

Hi Stephen,
I also plan to cycle around the world, but won't be starting until 2018.  I figure I will be doing about half of the trip on land and half by air.  Some of the major differences between my planned trip and yours, is not only that it will start 3 years from now, but I plan to use an electric bike and if I can get others to join me (a group tour of the world) that would be even better.
