Hey there, especially Lafayette and Louisville folks,
I'm a touring cyclist in Lafayette,and I just got a Trice NT Trike so I do both. Have done 4 ACA Montana rides, various European tours, and now on the trike, we did a SE Utah tour last fall (Escalante, Bryce). Rode a 600 mile loop in CO a few years ago.

Been out and about exploring the Denver/Boulder trails as I just moved to Lafayette from Fort Collins last year. Nice rides and I'm always looking for suggestions. Say hi if you see two trikes going down the road. Did you know the biggest Trice dealer lives 1.5 miles from my house in Louisville?? I like the suspension and foldability and comfort.

I'm up for an OLI rendevous in Louisville sometime of ACA riders. (Old Louisville Inn). Did anyone else go to the reunion dinner and ride two years ago with Jim Sawyer in Boulder? Sorry I missed you BH at the Waterloo. I'm just new to this forum.

Ditto for my experiences in early June - I've been over Independence Pass and it was fine, and the traffic was low, and over Freemont Pass and hit a snowstorm on the way down.

Hi all,
I've bicycled and triked this trail twice last summer and love it! From Glenwood to Basalt it is RR grade, flat and gently uphill. It's so nice to be totally off the Highway. Then from Basalt to Aspen, it gets hilly and fun.

The best lunch stop is Woody Creek Tavern in Woody Creek about mile 32. Then you have a choice of some hills up Mesa Rd. and seeing the mega-mansions of Aspen or a gravel trail along the river with less hills. I've done both. The gravel trail wouldn't be too bad for road bikes, but I preferred doing the Mesa Rd. on my road bike and seeing the scenery. It's a killer hill after lunch but at least it's short.

On my trike ( a Trice NT) the gravel was no problem at all. I run Marathon tires on the three wheels.

Once in Aspen, visit the Aspen Bakery. Then get ready for a Looong lovely downhill. The latest ACA magazine describes the ride, but she gets the return mileage wrong from Carbondale to Glenwood.  It's not 5 mi. its 11 miles.

We stayed in the Carbondale Days Inn to ride several days, one day to Aspen, one day to Glenwood and the Glenwood Canyon trail.

It's a great resource and great trail.

I will be driving a car from Granby to SLC on Tues./Wed June 24 and back on Sunday, June 27 if that helps at all.
