Hand-made steel frame by Ibis of California with 3x8 Shimano XTR grupo with indexed bar-end shifters, new hand built 40 spoke wheels with White Industries tandem hubs and Velocity Dyad 700C rims, new sealed bearing Shimano bottom brackets, Arai drum brake and Shimano cantilever rim brakes. Includes matching frame pump, rear rack, durable semi-rigid plastic shipping case, tandem roof rack. Connecting ACA Routes / Northern Tier Route to Portland Maine

Will be travelling the Northern Tier Route and would like to divert to Portland Maine to catch the ferry to Nova Scotia.  Can anyone suggest a route that leaves the Northern Tier and goes to Portland?

Routes / Maine-New Brunswick

Planning to head north from the end of the Northern Tier Route at Bar Harbor, Maine to St John's, NB and then ferry to Nova Scotia.  Hope to take the Deer Island Ferries between Lubec, Maine and L'Etete, NB.  Anyone have any information on riding Hwy 1 along this route or suggestions for alternate roads to get us to Lubec and St Johns?
