Routes / Re: Great Divide campgrounds

Last year, our trip included that section.  We stayed at:
Spray Lakes West Cmpgrd (campsites spread out over 2 miles)
Canyon Campground (1st come, 1st served)
Weary Creek Recreation Site (free, primitive camping by river)
Elkford Municipal Campground (reservable campsites, but we had no problem walking up)
Sparwood - Mountain Shadows Campground (Reservable, we had no problem walking up)
Fernie - We stayed at a relatively new RV park in the tent section, 10 min ride from town
Baynes Lake - another older RV park in the tent camping area.  Would have preferred dispersed camping.
Eureka- Silverado Motel has an RV Park with tent camping - behind the hotel
Tuchuck Campground - loved this one, 7 sites I think

Of course, primitive camping is abundant.  We had 6 people, so if you have less, it will be a lot less worrisome.

The Red Meadow Road (FR 115) is closed due to fire suppression efforts. There are several fires (the Whale Butte and Coal Ridge fires) in the area. Southbound, you can continue on the North Fork Road (FR 486) past Polebridge to Columbia Falls. Northbound, check to see if the road is open before leaving Whitefish. Call the Glacier View Ranger District 406-387-3800. If it's not open you can go north from Columbia Falls on North Fork Road (FR 486) which takes you to Polebridge and the route.

We rode this trail on August 14. Trail markers now clearly mark a route around the eastern portion of the pit.

According to Parks Canada, Highway 93A (south of Wabasso Campground to Geraldine Road) in Jasper National Park will be closed to "motorists, bicyclists, and hikers" July 30 to October 31, 2018 to undergo significant road improvements. Wabasso Campground will remain open during construction and will be accessible from the north.  Alternate route to turn A on Map 1 is to stay on Provincial Highway 93.
