Gear Talk / Bicycle Head Light ?
« on: July 14, 2009, 12:20:27 am »
What would be the best head light to use on a bicycle as some here knows I am going on a long trip to Bangor Maine soon here. The light I had just stop working today. But now I want a good head light this time around.Don't know if I should use two head lights or should I just use one. Its not like I am going to ride that much in the night I just want to be seen when I leave early in the mornings or coming in a little late in the day.The last light was a Bell light it did put out good light but now that I got my self a real good bike for touring I want a better light what do you all think would be the best to use.Any input will be nice have a great time riding to all.

Please help out...

What part of Arkansas do you live in.I am also from Arkansas in Little Rock.Maybe we could hook up some day and do a little touring.Have you ever done a long trip before? If you do go on your trip have a ball on it it will be more fun than you think it will be and hard on you as well but that's part of the fun of it.And you get to see all kinds of stuff on your way.Wish I could get a few people here to go on my trip to Bangor Maine with me but as of now looks like I may be going alone.Time will tell I'm not sure when I want to start my trip yet I will post it when I do.Have a great trip if you go.

Routes / A long road trip ahead.
« on: June 24, 2009, 10:21:53 pm »
Hi all this is my first time to this site.I need a lot of help I want to go on a long trip from Little Rock Arkansas to Bangor Maine.I just got my self a new road bicycle today.I took it for a test ride tonight all of the lights works great on it.Where is the best place to get a road map for a bicycle rider to use or should I get my self a GPS and load up a trip that way.I have a cell phone and a lot of other stuff I will be taking with me on this trip I have no idea when I am going to leave first I got to find a way to make this trip as safe as I can.I have been wanting to do this for so long now.And I can't think of a more fun way to travel.I have been riding bike for about three years now have been in a few 100 miles trips in one day. That in its self is hard to do I was not the last person to finish but I was not the first either. It would be cool if any of you here could join in on this trip. As I go its a long way but think I can do it in about 4 mouths if all goes well it does not matter to me if its hot or cold when I leave I just want to travel by way of bicycle one time in my life I am 52 and soon to be 53.My health is good so what have I got to lose.Any help on finding a road map or a good GPS for bicycle will help out.
Thanks to anyone that can help me.
