General Discussion / Re: Bicycle pump that works as advertised.
« on: July 01, 2022, 11:59:45 am »
I have used Blackburn floor pumps for 20+ years. They stand behind their products better than most other companies. The heads fail after a few years, and Blackburn sends the newest pump design for free. Road Morph and Lezyne ,on bike pumps, have each earned their place over many years of touring. Lezyne pumps require a bit more care, as the double valve head likes to come apart from from the tube upon screwing the head onto tire valve, but the learning curve is short. Pump to 90+ lbs if you want, but lower tire pressure rides with more comfort.

General Discussion / Re: What's your strategy to stay dry?

My wife and I have been using ponchos for several years. Everything beneath the shoulders stay dry, with air circulation warding off the under rain suit sweating issue. Not perfect in windy conditions, but certain objectives must be decided upon.

Yes John, a bit more information. Two riders veering off the Southern Tier route for family business in the Fort Worth area. Considering highway # 171 from Cleburn to Mexia as a possible connection to the ST further East along state rd. 39 close to Navasota. We carry simple kitchen and camp/motel or warm showers. Mid April should find us rolling again from the Fort Worth area.
