Routes / Help needed choosing a place to start in New Mexico!

Hi, I'm a bit overwhelmed with choices of where to start my ride off! I'm heading out on the GDMBR in late May. I would like to start off somewhere with good elevation, as I plan to take a week or so to let my body adjust to the altitude. I think it would be great to spend that first week relaxing in one of New Mexico's hot springs! (Clothing optional would be a plus! :-)Does anyone have any suggestions on a good combination of what I'm looking for that would be close to the trail? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I'm also planning on leaving out in mid May. As of now, I'm doing it solo, but would love to have someone to ride with! My schedule is flexible, and so is my starting point. PM me if you're interested!

General Discussion / Sleeping Bag Ratings?

Hi, I'm gathering some of my gear for the great divide, and I can't make up my mind on what rating sleeping bag to get.

I have a decent tent, and already have a sleeping bag rated for 40F, but I was considering getting one a bit warmer. In the summer months, what type of temperatures would I face in the worst case scenario? I'll be starting in New Mexico in May, and ending in Montana some time later in August.

I don't want to over buy, as I consider myself quite warm blooded, and sweat easily at night. I want something comfortable to sleep in through the trip.

Any suggestions would be great!
