Routes / PA Bike Route G?

I'm going to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway starting in late April.  It practically runs into the southern end of Bike Route G and that practically runs into my house just across the border in NY.  Anybody out there run Bike Route G before?  I've ridden parts of the Parkway so I know what to expect there.  I've also ridden the norther 50 miles or so Route G but never the southern part.

Routes / Southern Tier in winter?

Considering riding the Southern Tier route in the next year or so but my only free time is in the winter.  Probably October-November east to west.  I'm a fairly hearty soul so I'm not too concerned about cold nights camping but worried about snow in the mountains.  Does it get high enough to worry about that?

Looking for a good route from Las Vegas north to Battle Mountain.  Any suggestions?
