Gear Talk / rear cassette

I'm planning a southern tier adventure mid October (w to e). What experiences have you had removing the rear cassette? Is there a suggestion on how to do it "on the road" wihout bringing along a large wrench for holding down the cassette. I managed to rig something in my basement, but not sure if this will be possible in the middle of nowhere.

I'm planning on doing the southern tier (west to east?) o/a October 1. Any tips, advice, experiences welcme.

General Discussion / Establish website or not?

My husband and I plan on doing the southern tier (w to e) starting in October. I plan on taking lots of photos and writing a journal (have figured out all that technology). But since we'll be gone for a few months I'd like to keep in touch with friends/family--more than the occasional phonecall or e-mail.
Is it worth setting up a website to keep folks posted of progress with photos? I have a cell phone, palm pilot with folding keyboard and a very small digital camera. I suppose there will be internet cafes available every week or so. What's been your experience and how do I go about this?
