General Discussion / Getting a US Visa to ride TransAm plus

Hi, We are from New Zealand. Last time we did TransAm we finished within the 90 days allowable on the US Visa Waiver programme. This time we intend staying 4-5months. Has anyone from NZ (or other) expereinced getting an extended Visa - if so how much did it cost?
