Gear Talk / What's the deal with Lake cycling shoes?

Has anyone had any luck finding Lake shoes online recently? My understanding is that the company is changing ownership or distributors or something. The website isn't helpful, and I have been unable to find the shoes I'm looking for (Lake MX100's, 101's, or 102's) anywhere. Other companies make similar shoes but unfortunately only Lake makes them in my unusual size (50).

Connecting ACA Routes / Transamerica/Northern Tier link

I'm planning an eastbound Transamerican trip this summer but would prefer to finish in New England instead of the Mid-Atlantic states. Can anyone suggest any routes for either (a) jumping from the Transamerica trail to the Northern Tier trail somewhere east of Missouri, or (b) cutting off from Transamerica and ending up in Cape Cod, Mass.?

Routes / Trans-Long Island route

I'm considering a 2 or 3-day ride from Rockaway Point, Queens, NYC to Massachusetts via Long Island (taking the New London ferry at the end). Does anyone have any recommendations for a bike-friendly route down Long Island? Or does such a thing even exist?

Routes / Nova Scotia loop

I am biking the Northern Tier eastbound this summer, but instead of finishing in Bar Harbor I am contemplating a clockwise loop through New Brunswick and Nova Scotia to Yarmouth, NS, where I can catch a ferry back to Maine. Can anyone recommend a good route for this?
