Routes / Atlantic Coast Route, How much climbing and hills are there along the route?

I rode the Southern Tier route Two years ago.  I was wondering what the Atlantic Coast route was like.  My wife wants to join me and doesn't particularily like to climb the hills.  The Southern Tier from SD to Austin, TX was difficult enough for me.
Any info you could provide would be helpful on the elevation and areas.

Is there anyone interested in joining me on all or part of the Southern Tier, San Diego, CA to St. Augustine, FL, Departing on September 5, 2013?  This is my first cross country ride of this length.  I am doing this ride self supported pulling gear in a Yak trailer anticipating 50 to 90 miles per day depending on terrain.  I am anticipating the trip to take 50 to 55 days.  I am an experienced rider looking for the adventure of the trip along with the satisfaction of completion.  I am a 48 year old male, with a hall pass gifted from my lovely wife and kids.  If anyone is interested in the possibility please contact me.

Gear Talk / Tires for Southern Tier

Right now I use 700/23 Continental road tires on my Fuji Road Bike.  Would these tires suit me well on the trip?  Or should I up the width to 700/25 or larger?  Any thoughts on this?

Routes / Route from West to East in September/October

I am planning a cross country tour going from San Diego to Minnesota to Boston.  Has  anyone traveled these routes later in the year.  September to October.  I would be camping or Hosteling.  What is the weather like at that time of year?
