Routes / Ideas for a Musical Route
« on: June 25, 2015, 03:02:55 pm »
Hey everyone!

Some of you may remember. I was the crazy girl with no touring experiencing who wanted to bicycle across the U.S. with my doggy back in 2013.

Well, I did it, and I loved it so much.  So, I am planning on departing again. This time, however,  I am hoping to take a route that, while beautiful, does not take me away from people. I am taking my violin this time around in hopes to collaborate with musicians from all backgrounds,  cultures and so on.

What is route that does not get too secluded?

Thanks!

General Discussion / To Go Home or Not...That is the Question?
« on: June 18, 2013, 09:31:44 pm »
I am cycling across America. I estimate I'll be in my hometown just around Independence Day. Should I visit my family? I feel like it'll be really hard to leave home if I stop in. My family lives in Missouri. My end destination is San Diego, CA.

Routes / East Coast Greenway--Will my bike be ok?
« on: April 30, 2013, 02:59:50 pm »
I am riding my bike from NYC to Ashland, VA on the East Coast Greenway. I heard that the trail is both paved and unpaved. Will my bike be ok on this trail? I also have a DoggyRide trailer. My bike is a Kona Sutra 2013. 700c tires.
Thank you.  :)

Routes / Atlantic Coast Route close to Moorestown New Jersey
« on: April 10, 2013, 09:10:06 am »
Hi!

I am ordering maps in a few days, if I can't find used ones. Until then, I have a pressing question. Some friends want to know if I'll go through Moorestown, NJ, or at least be close to there. They need to know now. Can anyone tell me if the Atlantic Coast route is close to, or goes through Moorestown, NJ.

Thank you,
Jasmine

Hi, I am taking my dog with me in April. We need some items for her. She is 65 pounds, and about a 20 inches tall and a little over 24 inches long, not including tail. If you can sell for very cheap or even donate to our pup, that would be greatly appreciated:

1. Bike Tow Leash or Springer America
2. A water resistant blanket such as Tuffo brand with carrying case.
3. Water Proof Seal Line Bags for food.
4. Sleeping Bag for doggy.
5. Clothes and padded doggy shoes

Thank you!

General Discussion / Guide to Poor Woman's Cycling
« on: February 17, 2013, 10:35:09 am »
Hello Everyone,

I am new to the forums, so hello! I am leaving and biking across America in April. This is the best time for me to go from an emotional standpoint as well as a scheduling standpoint. However, it's not the best time financially. I am a broke, in debt college student. But I fear if I base my adventures and goals in life on money, I will never be able to accomplish my dreams. I've been trying to raise money and have even started an account with GoFundMe. Not much luck.

I came on to this website and saw terms such as minimalist touring and budget cycling. I would love to hear all your tips on how to make this the most inexpensive, lightweight trip possible and what your experiences were as "poor" or "budget" cyclists. Sorry if there is another forum post on this topic.

Also, I am looking for used equipment, so if you have anything you can sell for a reasonable price or donate for free, please send me an email. I will be indebted to you.  Thank you so much!
