Routes / We Are Looking for Michigan Touring Ideas

The wife and I completed the Southern Tier earlier this year (self supported March 8th to May 17th) and are now off to visit family.  We will be in Michigan during the months of August/September with no real time table.  Any and all suggestions are welcome.  TIA

General Discussion / Passing other tourist riders

May be a silly question but you know how things go through your head shortly before you leave on tour.
The big boss (wife) and I will start the Southern Tier in the next week.  We've read many journals about people seeing other riders along the routes that they travel and we were wondering, when seeing someone going the same direction as you it's easy to say hi or even talk,  but what is (for lack of a better term) protocol when seeing a rider going the opposite way.  I'm sure one doesn't stop and talk with every rider you see,  so how do you know when to stop and talk without interrupting their day.  Or can you just tell. TIA

General Discussion / Sort of a medical question

The wife and I ride a 25-30 mile loop almost everyday.  We live in humid east central Florida. My question is , after my body heats up some my sinus's run like crazy and I have to perform the "snot rocket" maneuver quite frequently.  Is there a solution for this issue?  ps.  She has never been hit by the said rocket, but finds it gross and asked me to seek help for my problem!  TIA Walter

Classifieds / How do you buy an item from a member?

I am interested in purchasing an item listed on this site and am wondering how a transaction would work.  The item is not cheap,  so how is money exchanged and the item received?  I am familiar with pay pal on ebay and it gives you some what of a secure feeling doing business with a seller, but I was wondering how a transaction works here?  Any ideas?  TIA Walter
