I am looking for any advice I can get about cycling in Florida. I am recovering from a back injury and would like to find a good place in southern Florida to get back in the saddle. I would prefer it to be in southern Florida where it is warm and I can stay at a camp ground as I hope to make this a two month workout. Thanks for any advice.

I was once forced into homeless and believe it or not there is a lot about that life that I miss. I am now raising my 7 year old grandson who loves to sit in his seat and ride behind me. I am wanting to ride from Indiana to Oregon this summer with him behind me but safety is an issue. In the summer it is not uncommon for us to ride 50 miles a day so I am sure we can do at least that if no more in a long day if the weather is good and we are not yet in the mountains. I used to live in Or. Wa. and spent some time in Ca. I understand the stealh camping in those states and on BLM (public property) where it is legal. My first question is this : Can someone point me towards the rout that would be best suited for a trip from Indiana to Or. where it would not be to much to make it from one camp ground, Hostel, or motel to the next in a days ride or is this goal unreasonable ? The time for the trip is no issue as I home school him. My major concern is getting caught and finding that the gov. disapproves of a seven year old being on this trip. I am hoping to hear from those who have done this type of trip before. Maybe it is a bad idea. He is really looking forward to this trip and I hate to disappoint him. I know weight is usually an issue but I am used to having him on behind me so I am sure a few more pounds is not ideal but it is the adventure we are after but I do need to know can we find places to safely spend the nights and where do I find this information ?
