California / Bike theft at California Hiker-Biker Campsite, be aware!

Over Memorial Day weekend my bikepacking bike was stolen from the Half Moon Bay State Beach Hiker Biker campsite. It was locked to itself, about 15' away from my tent. Someone came and grabbed it overnight. Either they cut the cable lock or they threw it in a car.
I'm very experienced in locking my bike in urban areas, but this theft at a campsite really took me by surprise. Perhaps I was an easier target because I was traveling solo. Just wanted to give a heads up to people touring on Highway 1. What I've seen people do is to lock their bike up in front of their tent, and somehow attach part of it to the tent. This way if someone moves it, it also wakes you up.
