Routes / From Cap May, NJ to NYC

Hi,
In the next few days I will arrive in Cap May, NJ from Florida and would like to get to NYC to take the Empire State Trail back to Canada.
Could you suggest the best route to get into Manhattan alive?

Routes / From Virginia Beach to New York

Hello,
I am planning the East Coast from Key West to NYC to Montréal. From NYC to Montréal we will follow Empire State Trail, from Key West to Virginia Beach we would like to stay always on the coast, but arrived at Chesapeake Bay we don't have idea. We have already done the Delaware by RV, we have already visited Washington DC but a bike photo at the Capitol would not be bad  , what route do you suggest between Virginia Beach to NYC?

PS: The advice to take the train or a car in that part is also accepted....

General Discussion / Help for ideas wanted

Hello,
For 2024 We are stuck at home and we have only one month (+/-) available. We have no ideas to go in a WOW place  without changing continents. We have already done the Pacific Coast, the Southern Tier, Quebec-New Brunswic provinces, Atlantic Province of Canada, road biking in Moab (UT) and a few passes in Colorado.

What do you suggest? I think Baja California is too hot.

Living in Canada, no biking in winter, we would like to leave April 1st, so very little training.
The only idea I have is to fly to Denver (CO), direction Salt Lake City along IS-80 and back to Denver from the South US. Google Maps suggests this as the basic idea.
Variants along the way.

Others good ideas? I don't like snakes, so nothing in Florida. Carolina and neighboring states are too similar to Quebec.

Hello,

I'm planning about 10 days in NY state before end of November. My idea is Albany - NYC - Albany
From Albany to NYC I find the "Empire State Trail" and after I would like to cross Long Island, take a ferry to New London and go back to Albany.

It's a good idea?

Routes / Souther Tier W to E or E to W

Hello,
we are planning to start riding at the end of January.
Our first idea was to start from San Diego as many people, but I prefer to start from St. Augustine because roads are more flat at the beginning of the journey and we will arrive to the NM mountains in springtime, but I have a doubt about prevailing winds, which is the best direction?

I know that in NM I can find snow, but my doubt is abount campground. It's easy to find? They are open also in this season?

Hello,

I start to plan my new bike ride, I live in Quebec and I would like to visit South of USA next winter. The general plan is about 1500-2000 miles and I start to look at this itinerary: Albuquerque - Ash Fork - San Xavier Mission - Las Cruces - Albuquerque.
I'm looking to:
- Best sites "must to see"
- Nice place to sleep and eat
- Best sites, blogs, forum to take informations about my ride

This is my very first draft, so I agree all suggestions.
