New England / Re: Loop tour in Northern NH or Maine
« on: July 02, 2019, 06:35:11 am »
One of my favorite tours starts in Errol NH, travels to Bethel ME, Byron ME, Rangely Lakes, back to Errol. Then loops from Errol to North Strafford NH over Dixfield Notch and back to Errol the next day. 6 day tour, average 40 miles per day.

I think there is a bike path that runs along Rt 36 out of Boulder. Not sure where it picks up or leaves off. I do know that they have a cool bike repair station at the scenic overlook with a beautiful view of Boulder.

General Discussion / Re: ACA Tour catalog question

I wonder where the photo on the upper right corner of the cover was taken. Outside Boulder CO? Boulder Canyon? Was it on one of the tours? I grew up in Boulder and would love to combine a family visit with a tour.

It's a great catalog. I can't decide which tour to do next. I'm glad there are more tours offered on the east coast, but I love going out west.

I keep my work shoes at my desk. Change when I get in.

Thanks, briwasson, I might try that. These days, I just use my husband's truck. Much quicker.

Mine were filed off years ago. The only problem is that I can't load it on a roof rack securely. No matter how tightly I batten down the fork, it pulls out of the rack at high speeds.

Thanks for starting the discussion, Jill. I'm going to do some solo overnights this spring and work up to a longer tour this summer. My plan is to work them around special events, like the Maine Bike Rally, so that I can have a mix of solitude and company.

Thanks, Jay. I'll keep you in mind if more people reply. So far, I haven't had too many replies. I'm trying not to take it personally   8), maybe everyone is chopping wood for the winter.

New England / Bike Overnights in NH and beyond
« on: September 23, 2011, 07:31:42 am »
Morning, everyone.

I'm trying to build a network of self-contained bike-campers that are interested in some bike overnights mostly in Central NH, but willing to extend beyond this region. I live in Concord NH and would like to do one more weekend before the snow flies, and more next season. Hoping to do a week-long trip next summer. Are you interested? No obligation...
