SJS--Did you do the Florida Coast-to-Coast?  Although ai live in Florida, I'm finding it difficult to find a suitable up to date, detailed map.  Did you find one?  Thank you.

South Atlantic / Cycling to Key West
« on: December 14, 2020, 12:56:20 pm »
Im thinking of biking thru part of Florida and taking the ferry from Ft. Myers to Key West, then cycling north. Has anyone taken the ferry from Ft. Myers to Key West?  It appears that their restrictions on bikes would prevent more than two carry-ons/panniers (I plan on 4, front and back and a handle bar bag).  Has anyone done this?  Would appreciate any comments.

Great Lakes / Cleveland to Buffalo

Fairly new to bike touring.  Looking for information/advice on biking from Cleveland to Buffalo later this year (fall).  Plan is to continue on to Albany, NY on Erie Canal towpath. Will probably arrive in Cleveland by Amtrak from Washington DC.

General Discussion / Re: Pedals Recommendation

Thank you all. Pat Lamb--I see now that my question is confusing.....I do not plan to use Look/Keo for touring.

Time pedals have a good amount of float (as much as 17 degrees on certain models if I read it right), with some models having platform on one side on clip-in on the other.  Any opinions on Time ATAC or XC models?  Thank you.

General Discussion / Pedals Recommendation

I am new to bike touring; in fact just ordered a bike.  I would like to get opinions about advantages or disadvantages to clipless or flat pedals.  My road bike has Look-Keo pedals, so I'm used to being "clipped in".  I plan on touring on gravel or bike paths mostly; not off-road.  Interested in opinions of clipless shoes for walking.  Thank you.
