GPS & Digital Data Discussion / Re: Downloading GPX files

Exactly what I did! I got some help from a tech. Evidently when I "Extracted all" it did not unzip the files. I was under the impression that when the icon removed the zipper...it was unzipped. Not so. When I repeated the motion so many times and it didn't work I assumed it was the file I downloaded from AC.. My problem was Windows. Surprise, surprise. The files I received via e-mail were obviously already unzipped, so they worked. What clued me in is I tried to unzip other files and same, same. Thanks for your concern. The issue was solved by reinstalling the latest update.

Thanks John,

When I open the zip file each file has a PFD icon. and when I try to download it to my InReach explorer Map page it says its not a GPX file! I tried several different computers, phone, and tablet. I called Garmin and they downloaded from AC and sent the file via email....and it worked! So, I found if I download the file, attach it to an email to myself, and drag it to the map page it works. A lot of work for something that should be sent as a GPX file. I tried Basecamp but its not obvious how to export the file and I guess I'm wondering why this is so challenging. Crazy! Thanks

I downloaded the sample GPX files from AC but I can't open them because they send them as an adobe file. Then I can find an app that works. I have a Garmin Explorer and Garmin support downloaded the same file and sent it to me in an email attachment and it worked. There has to be a better way. Will it work for the entire set?? Anyone else having trouble with this??
