Gear Talk / Do shimano 10 speed derailluers work with microshift barends?

Starting to build my new bike.  I am going to use microshift's barend shifters with shimano's 10 speed rear derailleur. Is this going to work ok? I see the rear derailleur design has changed. Looking at the XT M 786 model. I also found a XT T780.

Decided to go with LX hubs and Dyad rims. DT spokes with brass nipples. Was reading Peter White's website and the Velocity Dyad rims sound good.

Hi. I can get a set of wheels built up with Mavic A719 rims and Shimano XT hubs. The other set I can get are Mavic A319 and LX hubs. I heard the LX hubs are better for touring. Any truth to that? How do the A319 hold up compare to the A719 rims? Plan on loaded touring with my bike that I am building up. Thanks for any info.

Looking at a set of Velocity Dyad wheels 36 spoke laced to LX touring hubs. The other set has Mavic A719 rims. Any pros or cons with these wheels?

Going with the Microsoft 10 sp. XT rear dérailleur   Now looking at brakes and wheels. Velocity dayad rims with LX hubs. Not sure on brakes yet

So I read the adventure cycling piece on 10 speed comparability   So micro shifts bar cons will work with 10 sp XT rear dérailleur? Glad I read that. Was going to buy shimano a bar cons.

Starting to build up a Velo Orange touring frame. Not sure if I should build it with 9 speed or 10 speed components. Any pros or cons going with 10 speed?

Hi, I have a road bike and ride with road shoes right now.( LOOK pedals) I am getting a Surly LHT to do some touring and wonder what type of shoes to use for touring? Looks like lots of people use SPD's. What do you use?

Gear Talk / Bruce Gordon BLT is it worth the price?

I was checking out the BLT from Bruce Gordon. A complete bike with Shimano SLX for $1795. Mavic wheels built in-house and it comes with his front and rear racks. Compare to the Surly LHT and the REI's Novara Randonee, is $500 worth it?

I have a Cannondale Synapse SL frame built up with 2005 Campagnolo Record 10sp. I want to sell it to fund my touring bike! Due to medical issues I haven't rode the bike so the frame has only 500 miles on it. The Campy group has about 1000 miles on it but works like new and in great condition. The frame is in new condition.. Comes with DT240 hubs laced to DT RR1.2 rims. Continentals  4 season 25mm tires(new) 3T Team stem and Pro bar. Fizik saddle (new) and Shimano PRO seatpost(new) This is a great century bike that is comfortable and fast.looking for $3800 or best offer.
