Gear Talk / Re: Tents Designed for Bike touring
« on: September 22, 2020, 04:26:18 am »
Hello Together
i had a similar problem on many of my bike tours. Unfortunately i didn't find an ideal tent and therefore i changed my search. I found a great article about carrier bags. It is in german but can be easily translated with programs like DeepL and they even added their favorites.

I find the bags much more practical.

This is really not an easy task and is best tackled with a lot of preparation.

I haven't had too much experience with it so far, but maybe the one or other app for gluten-free restaurants can help.

I would also say that a small amount of perpetuem may be appropriate. However, I find the weight loss even more serious.

Food Talk / Re: Eating well on tour.

I spent 20 days on the Pacific Coast route in 2005 and gained 10 pounds!  Of course my thighs each increased by and inch in circumference.  I was always hungry after the first 5 days or so and just ate all I wanted to for fuel.

I have had similar experiences - it always amazes me.

I have recently heard a lot of positive things about the Renegade diet, maybe this is a sensible diet for you. It is aimed at people who do intensive sport, but also for those who want to increase their general well-being through a balanced diet. This diet is also suitable for a long-term change.

Food Talk / Re: Recipes
« on: September 03, 2020, 08:40:26 am »
I prefer to take a shake with me, preferably high in protein.

These are the recipes I am most enthusiastic about:

• Chocolate banana nut shake: Combine 1 banana, 1 scoop of chocolate whey protein and 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of peanut or another nut butter.
• Vanilla berry shake: Combine 1 cup (237 ml) of fresh or frozen mixed berries, ice, 1 cup (237 ml) of high-protein natural yogurt and 1 scoop of vanilla whey protein.
• Chocolate hazelnut shake: Combine 15 ounces (444 ml) of chocolate milk with 1 scoop of chocolate whey protein, 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of hazelnut butter and 1 avocado.

I can only recommend trying them. They are nutritious without being too heavy in the stomach.
