Temporary ACA Route Road Closures / Re: Pacific Coast Section 4 Hwy 1 rockslides south of Big Sur

As of Mar 12th it looks like the Ca 1 is closed from south of Big Sur to Ragged Point until the end of this year to fix all the damage from the rockslide and stabilize the cliffs above the road.  ACA needs to come up with a safe bypass around this closure...is it safe to cut over to the 101 and take that south to Paso Robles and then cut over to Cambria or Morro Bay?

California / ACA Pacific Coast ride-Los Angeles to San Francisco

I'm looking for riders to join me on a ride from LA to SF next May along the ACA Pacific Coast Route.  I know most ride the Pacific coast southbound because of the tail winds but I want to ride north because I need to be in SF by the first week of June to join up with next years AIDS Lifecycle ride....my second time doing the ride.  I figure taking at most 12 days to ride up the coast would be sufficient to get me prepared for the ride back south.  I'd like to travel with other cyclists for company and security along the route.  This will be my first time doing the ACA route which I'm planning on doing it from Seattle to LA next fall then do the Transamerica route the following year. 

If you would like to join me please email me so we can start planning.  I'm riding a recumbent trike so I'll be a slow rider going up the hills....only planning on doing 40-50 miles per day at the most and camping along the route.
