Gear Talk / Good travel guitar?

I will be biking the Northern tier this summer.  I would really like to bring a guitar. The guitar needs to be small light and durable.  I will be pulling a burley nomad trailer behind me and would strap it to the top, anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for your feedback, is there any good books out there about training and nutrition for such a long ride?.

I was thinking about doing the northern tier.  Anyone out ther done it? I was wondering what people though about the route as opposed to other routes. going solo would like to maintain a 100 mile per day average is this possible on that route?
