Routes / Which route is better???

Me and a friend of mine in june are planning on biking from coast to coast. We wanted to take either the western express route or the southern route. We liked the southern rounte because it looked a little shorter, but we thought it might be really hot for june.  Also which route has better views. and finally is a six week time frame a realistic estimate?

Im looking for a web sight for people looking for others to tour the U.S. with.  Ive seen the page on the adventure cycling site but there wasnt very many people listed on it. Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can come across a riding partner.

General Discussion / Places to stay on the TransAm

Me and my friend from college are planning on riding the transam in May of '06.  We are on a very tight budget and looking for people who normally take cyclist in for a night.  I am familiar with the cookie lady. Are there other people like her along the route and if so how can I locate them?
