Cateye Mity/Enduro wired computer.  Maybe the most reliable longest lasting bike computer on the face of the earth.  It works forever and ever with rarely a hitch.

Gear Talk / Re: Panniers = racks= bike
« on: March 31, 2011, 07:03:57 am »
.... you want to be able to mount the pannier toward the back of the rack.

Assuming heel strike is not an issue, why is it preferable to mount panniers toward BACK of the rack?

Thanks,
Michael

Would be great to have the "76" signs that are still up on TA in VA.

No, there isn't any "on-the-ground" symbol that one can use to follow ACA routes. And more and more government entities aren't allowing folks to mark pavement. For example, Summit County in Colorado won't allow any groups to mark the roads within the county.
Yep, unfortunately.

I didn't realize so many cyclists/motorcyclists were in this org!

I ride a 650 Dakar, Honda XR200 or a 1972 Montesa Cota 242. Betcha no one has a Montesa on this forum!

3 bicycles too.

Heck, can't even find pic of your Montesa!   ;)

As Indyfabz pointed out, found plenty of info re Bannack SP over on CGOAB.  While it is 4 mi offroute, it is downhill & mostly paved.   :)  And they seem to find room @ campground for us cyclists.  And looks like cool place for those interested in history of American West.

Yeah, I have Twin Bridges marked as "must do".

Pete, thanks for headsup re Patagonia outlet.  I'll see if I can assist with the economic recovery.

On the subject of moseys, northern MN has lots as big as hummingbirds!

Bannack SP is approx 4 mi off TA route between Jackson & Dillon, MT.
Anyone have experience reaching the park from TA route and camping experience?
What about it as a rest day?
Thanks!

So how important is it to keep track of cadence on a trip?
After the first few days, ... watching the speed was depressing.
;D

Your questions and related ones have arisen several times. I think I will compose a sticky topic summarizing what we have found about them.
