Just managed to snap a screw head off when tightening my bike rack and wonder if anyone has any tips for retrieving it, (before I end up covered in various glues and swearing a lot....)

Hi, my shimano shifter stick has become very loose, which is affecting the gear shifting. There is a bolt that holds the unit together, but i can't tighten it fully with a wrench or pliers because it's housed with a partial cover. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?

Routes / Bike Mount Everest.......

I've read a few things recently about biking Up to base camp one on Mt. Everest.mI've found a couple of very expensive mountain bike tour companys who will carry your gear etc etc in exchange for a kidney.   but does anyone here have any experience of doing this alone, or know of a decent source of information. I'm sure it would take a lot of planning!

I'll be ending my 4 month tour in next week and will be in Portland Oregon for two weeks. I want to sell the bike to raise funds for further travels.

 I bought it in May and have been riding since June so it's fairly new, but settled in! Will need a new back tyre before setting off again.

 I'm looking for around $900 which includes the rear rack and upgraded wide platform pedals. Altogether, it cost me around $1350 brand new after tax.

Anyone interested, I can send pics and answer any questions. Happy to ship, but at your cost.

Routes / Pacific Route 101 Between Leggett and Crescent City.....

Hi, I've been biking North' mostly on route 1. On my maps, I can't find a route around the freeway sections between Leggett and Crescent City. Can I legally ride 101 North from Leggett?    Thanks

Routes / San Diego to Portland

I've used the ACAA maps from New York to (almost) San Diego. I have time on my visa to head north again, but don't really want to pay put for more maps. Does anyone know if it's possible to hit route 1 and ride it all the way from California to Oregon? Will a standard road atlas get me there safely?

Routes / Setting out from New York City.....Good idea or not?

Hi all, I'm flying in to NYC from the UK and plan to start cycling south along the Atlantic coast route. I've never been to the US before and wonder if it's really a good idea to make New York my introduction to cycling in America! Anyone had any experience biking through NYC?

Any suggestions for a quieter town close to NYC to start from? I plan to buy my bike etc when I arrive, so recommendations for good bike shops would also be greatly appreciated
