Routes / Re: Going to the Sun Road

I spent 2 weeks biking and hiking in Glacier NP last August while on a bicycle tour. Some of the following info is subject to change.
Cycling from the West Glacier side towards St. Mary's from Sprague Creek to Logan Pass is prohibited from 11 am to 4 pm so you should be at Logan Pass by 11 am. Cycling from East to West has no restrictions because the East section is not as steep and has wider shoulders for the most part. Cyclist have no problem keeping up with cars going down from Logan Pass. Actually, you will need to brake quite a lot.
There are "expensive" small tour buses and "free" park shuttles. Last year the free shuttles required a $1.00 reservation fee through recreation.gov, two-thirds of which were available early and the remaining made available the day before. There was also the possibility for a stand-by shuttle spot if there was enough room. Most of the shuttles have bike racks. There are hiking trailheads at the shuttle stops. Hiking in the park was the best part of my stay.  Since you are going after peak season, there might be fewer restrictions.
Not all facilities, campgrounds, and shuttle stops were open last year. This was not entirely due to Covid, but also staffing shortages and reconstruction work. So it would be prudent to check ahead of time.
Also keep in mind that the skies could be a bit smokey from wildfires.

This connection could not be any easier, barring any detours due to construction. You will be riding east through Minneapolis on the Midtown Greenway which extends to the Mississippi River, where you connect to the West River Parkway. There is no need to head south at Hiawatha Ave; the Greenway goes over it and continues to the Mississippi.https://www.traillink.com/trail/midtown-greenway-(mn)/

I have the Thudbuster ST 3G which I bought on sale when the current generation came out and love it. I tour with wider tires ~ 2" and a Brooks Saddle so I didn't really think it would make a huge difference, but decided to give it a try since it was on closeout for around $100. It does make a noticeable difference on rough roads and gravel and subtly eliminates road buzz. My experience is that it does increase comfort and reduce soreness and I always tour with it now.
