International / Caribbean cycling?

Hello all,
My wife and I are stationed in San Juan Puerto Rico.  Cycling here is very challenging, and frankly not enjoyable at all.  Has anyone encountered any cycling-friendly islands in the Caribbean?  There are a lot of flights to the rest of the Caribbean out of San Juan and I'd love to find a getaway for some good riding.  Thanks a bunch.

International / Puerto Rico

Hello:

My name is Dan Kehlenbach, and I am new to the Adventure Cycling forums.  My wife is active duty US Coast Guard and we are being transferred to Puerto Rico this summer.

Has anyone done any touring there recently?  I have been reading about La Vuelta Puerto Rico, but it looks a bit too competitive for my tastes.
