Gear Talk / Re: Pre-Built wheel with dynamo for Trek 520
« on: June 09, 2022, 06:58:12 pm »
Hi Ingo,

I might have what you want/need.  It's a SON Delux (not the SON 28) laced to a 700 Alex DH 19 rim, built by Jeff Bradley at the Trek Store  It's a rim brake set-up and has never been used.

Long story short: For my Surly Troll I bought (what was described as a 26 inch) rim online and, without opening the box after its arrival, took it to Jeff and had him build the wheel.  I knew something was wrong the moment I laid eyes on it.   The online company had sent me a 700 rim, so the new wheel was completely useless to me.

Again, it's rim brake only and has never been used.  I'll try to add pictures.

Thanks.

Classifieds / FS: Three Brooks Pro Saddles
« on: September 14, 2013, 05:08:38 pm »
I have three Brooks Pro saddles for sale.  Two years ago I switched to the B 17 Special, so these saddles need a new home:

1.  Purchased in 1995 (I think), it is brand new.  That means never used, so the leather is still stiff.   About twice per year I apply a thin layer of Proofide top and under the saddle.  This is my "back-up" saddle that I bought just in case something happened to my other Brooks Pro.  The tension bolt has never been touched.  Cost: $110 and includes shipping to the lower 48 states.   Shipment to HI or AK will require an additional fee.  I do not ship to outside the United States.

2.  Purchased new in 2008 (I think), it has about 5,000 miles on it.  It has never been wet or even damp.  The leather is very pliable.  There is no evidence of the leather pulling away from the rivets.  About twice per year I apply a this layer of Proofide.  Last year, and more out of curiosity than necessity, I tightened the tension bolt just a bit.  Cost: $80 and includes shipping to the lower 48 states.   Shipment to HI or AK will require an additional fee.  I do not ship to outside the United States.

3.  Purchased used in 2000 in France while I was riding the Camino de Santiago, Selle Rodée Main is engraved in the top side.  I used it for at least 50,000 miles, but it is still in respectable condition.  The leather is still firmly attached to the rivets.  I tightened/loosened the tension bolt last year.  Cost: $60 and includes shipping to the lower 48 states.   Shipment to HI or AK will require an additional fee.  I do not ship to outside the United States.

I accept only Paypal transfers.

I have pictures of all three saddles ready to send.  I live in Davenport, Iowa, so local pickup is also an option.
