There is ongoing construction on SRA1A/200 between Yulee and O'Neil making this a potentially dangerous stretch of road due to traffic and road conditions. The Jacksonville Airport Access Alternate is a way to avoid this section. Construction is slated to last through Summer 2020.

Pavement Preservation Project Begins in Park this Week
Travelers Should Expect Temporary Delays

MOOSE, WY- Pavement preservation work on U.S. Highway 89 and other areas in Grand Teton National Park may begin Thursday, May 16, and travelers should expect up to 15-minute daytime delays as chip seal activities get underway. Work on U.S. Highway 89 will begin at the park's southern boundary and continue northbound throughout the year, extending to the south gate of Yellowstone National Park. Road work is dependent upon weather and temperature conditions.

The park-wide pavement preservation project is expected to be completed by the end of September. Visitors will see increased construction signage and equipment staging throughout the park.

The project is funded and managed in partnership with the Federal Lands Highway Program. The contract for the project was awarded to Intermountain Slurry Seal of Salt Lake City, Utah. Activities include patching holes and sealing cracks in the pavement surface, applying a chip seal or micro seal on the road surface, followed by a fog seal to reduce airborne gravel. Striping will be the final action.

The chip sealing work is a rolling construction operation that will gradually proceed from south to north on U.S. Highway 89. Visitors can expect temporary delays and reduced speed limits in these mobile construction zones. Work at parking lots will be managed by sections so that a portion of the lot will always be accessible.

Chip sealing is a cost-effective way to provide an improved road surface and preserve the underlying pavement. When proactive preventative maintenance activities are completed on park roads, more serious and costly damage to the pavement structure will be averted.
Road work will generally occur between 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, including weekends. No work will be permitted Saturday through Monday of Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-27, or over the Independence Day Holiday, Wednesday afternoon through Sunday, July 3-7.

In addition to the pavement preservation work, the final phase of emergency repairs related to the June 2017 washout of the Gros Ventre Road will occur late this summer. Work is expected to begin in late July and continue into November. Traffic delays associated with the Gros Ventre Road repair project will be limited to 15 minutes between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m.

The work will focus on realigning the road to restore the original 45 m.p.h. speed limit and replacing the concrete barriers with a guardrail. Additional stream bank armoring will occur upstream and downstream from the work that was completed in the fall of 2017.

There has been a mudslide on SR 20 about 6 miles east of Loup Loup Pass. Currently there is a single lane of traffic controlled by traffic signals. There will likely be a full closure and detour in the future.

More details:

Hello - Thanks for your message. I could replicate this when I did a search for Lodging while zoomed in on Shawano, WI. I'm not sure why it's listing lodging options that are so far away. This feature is working correctly in other parts of the country, so we'll have to look in to why this area is being problematic. Thanks for your note and I'll report this to our developers.

This year-long bridge closure is on the Fleming Park Bridge accessing the east end of Neville Island. This affects Map 1 on the Underground Railroad Pittsburgh Spur. The Section of SR 51 between Turns 'B' and 'D' is not advised due to no shoulders, steep curves, and very short sight lines. Please do not ride this section of SR 51 in lieu of the routing on the map. The Port Authority is running a shuttle across the construction project, but it is a standard school bus and not equipped to carry loaded bicycles. We advise this alternate route to the south:

As of 8/14, there is a closure order affecting Section 1 map C. See image below. The alternate route around this closure area is to continue on the Stemple Pass Rd. instead of turning up S. Fk. Poorman Creek Rd. at turn "L". > Continue to SR 279, Turn right on SR 279 to Canyon Creek, then Turn right on Little Prickly Pear Rd. and rejoin the route at turn 'N".

There was a landslide that has closed old US 91 for a few miles. The location is 5 miles south of Cascade.

reroute from Montana DOT: Traffic traveling on Old US-91 can bypass the slide by using the South Cascade Interchange (Exit 254) and the Tintinger Interchange (Exit 250)

The bridge just north of Lawndale is under construction and the DOT is routing traffic onto I-55. The bridge will be under construction until 9/15/2018. Here is a 5 mi. detour to the west from Lawndale to just south of Atlanta.

According to the Caltrans status page, it looks like SR 1 will be closed through 9/30/18. Also, the BRN app has been updated with the detour around this slide. In the settings area, click Tap 'Check for route updates' to get the new track line.

It would be great if the app digital maps would be updated to show detours around these long term closures.

Hi - That Is a great point. We're working on a way to get the long-term detours to show up in the app and be easily recognized as a detour. I'll update this post when that happens. In the meantime, always make sure to check out the Map Updates and Corrections system before your trip.

The Rice Ridge Fire has closed a section of the GDMBR near Seeley Lake, MT. On Section 1, Map A, at Milepost 225.2: Instead of turning left onto FR 4353, continue straight onto 4353 and follow it out to the highway, SR 83. Then take SR 83 south into Seeley Lake to rejoin the route just north of town.

From Caltrans:

Old Highway 101 Bike Path Closed Monday

SAN DIEGO—The Old Highway 101 Bike Path through Camp Pendleton will be closed Monday from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. in support of military operations in the area.

The freeway shoulders of Interstate 5 will be open to bicyclists in both directions between Las Pulgas Road and Basilone Road as a detour during the closures.

Bicyclists are reminded to exit at all ramps including viewpoints and weigh stations to avoid conflict with vehicles. Motorists are reminded to be alert for bicyclists and to “Share The Road.”

We have reports that there is a bridge out between Loretto and Springfield. Heading west, the bridge is 8 miles from the intersection of Bus 150 and SR555. Eastbound, it's 3.2 miles from the intersection of SR49 and SR152.

We are looking for an alternate route and will post it when one becomes available.

We've been informed that the bridge over cold creek rd/ fr 888 is out and road is closed. You can still ride the road but will have to go through the creek. The workers expect the new bridge to be open in about 10-14 days.

We have been advised that Lakeshore Drive through Bratenahl (Cleveland) will be closed for 60 days. There is no feasible alternate route along the lake. We recommend using the 'Heights Alternate' route to avoid this construction. more info on the construction status can be found here.
